Absolutely love this topic. Never ever thought I'd say I enjoy weightlifting, but I do. The message is clear, after aPC diagnosis start lifting weight or some short of resistance training. 5+ Years in on this journey Eligard is a constant companion along with aging issues, and Pluvicto. I am a 3-4 day a week weight lifting guy now. Lite weights, mindful warm ups, 6 reps, follow by many slow and deliberate reps. My gym, Fitness Over Fifty, is a very social place, lot's fun loving conversations, caring for each other, supportive weightlifting buddies, and age related trainings. I am not the only prostate cancer guy in the gym, seems like every guy is dealing with prostate issues. My ideal workout takes about 2 hours, includes stretching, weights, caring conversations, stretchy bands. Every other weeks I include a wellness session with an exercise phycologist discussing exercise (weights, walks, swimming, bike riding + balance), nutrition (not dieting, but eating the right mix of foods, and mindfulness which means books, journaling, and researching health/aging/cancer related issues.
Sounds like a great plan. Have you had a prostectomy? Radiation?
