Multiple myeloma and CML Any advice

Welcome to Connect, @hope4dad. I’m guessing that read the same information that you did about the rarity of having both CML and MM. There isn’t very much data about these dual conditions. However, after doing a search in Connect, I was able to find another member who also has CML and later developed Multiple myeloma. I’d like to introduce you to @mosiac with this comment about having both diagnoses:

Was your dad already in treatment for CML? What is his doctor suggesting for the Multiple myeloma?

Thank you for replying.
My dad was in treatment for cml since 2016. He was switched from multiple drugs and his last one for cml was sprycel. He was in a molecular remission as he was told, but kept taking sprycel. His hemoglobin was dropping every time he was doing lab, but was told that it is side effect of meds.
He developed bad backache that was progressing rapidly since January 2025.
Went to chiropractor, got sent to back and spine specialists who tried to do physical therapy with him.. he was getting worse.
On March He ended up in the hospital she He got diagnosed with multiple myeloma.
Spent a week at the hospital and from March 24th started on RVD treatment.
Doctors told him not to take sprycel for now.
During his first treatment developed horrible rash. Was given 6 days of corticosteroid. Finished first cycle of 21 days.
During the serving cycle developed even worse rash.. was given another pack of corticosteroid. Was taken off the revlimid on the day 10th and did not finish treatment.
On Monday May 5th started 3rd cycle but only doing one a week stomach injection and taking dexamethazone that day.
So that's what we are at.
