Shooting pain in toes and bottoms of feel is worse at night

Posted by sandyhaynes @sandyhaynes, 5 days ago

I am prediabetic and have leg muscle pains plus sciatica. The pain is unbearable on the bottoms of my feet (balls of my feet) when I am in bed. My feel numb sometimes during the day. Is there anything besides compression socks that I can do ?

That would be a good question for a professional whose specialty is nerve treatment or pain management. For myself, I haven't found that tempting nature works out in the long run, pun not intended. 😉
I like to stay as active as I can but at 78 and with terrible balance (and pain) issues, I've opted for an indoor recumbent bicycle and a vibration platform with handrails, and I love them both. Try to pursue all the options you can and I wish you the best!

Thanks, I’m 78 too😉
I got out my compression socks back out, so hopefully they will help. Two hip replacements complicate it also. Thanks for your encouragement.

Oh, yes, Sandy ~ those replacements! I have one, done in 2022, and it has proved to complicate things significantly. I sure wish you all the best in your search for relief, and may it come sooner than later.
Blessings to you, 🙏 , and peace.

Just a thought, but have you ever been bitten by ticks?
I found out by asking Google that ticks spread bartonella which can raise blood sugar, and also neurological problems like burning in the feet.
I think everyone should be properly tested for not only Lyme disease but other tick infections. Examples... Babesia, and bartonella. Many who were diagnosed with diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and fibromyalgia actually had lyme disease. Kris Kristofferson was being treated for Alzheimer’s, but found out later it was late stage lyme disease.

Thanks Barb very kind of you to reply. I’m uk and it’s very hard to get to see a neurologist waiting list over a year if they see you at all. I’ve seen a private neurologist and already spent a fair bit trying to see what’s caused my non length sfsn and got no where. So I’m trying to keep active and find out as much as I can on my own.
Thanks Alan

You probably will learn as much from this website as you will a doctor. Need them to write the prescriptions though

It's disgusting that you would have to wait over a year to see a doctor. What physician would make a patient wait that long when they are in pain. I thought waiting 2 months was bad but a year? Shame on any doctor for that. Sorry, but things like that really make me angry. Good luck.

By the way , I have terrible feet pain. A lot of the time my heels feel like I'm walking on concrete and there is so much pain in both my feet that I don't even want to walk at all. I did find some good sneakers after purchasing many pairs and I find that Brooks "Max Ghost" are great so far.
Good luck.
