Thanks for tagging me, I just saw this, and I am all in favor of a positive vibes only thread! There are plenty of horror stories, let’s hear the good. I was diagnosed in my mid 40’s with osteoporosis thanks to an MRI for back pain showing an old compression fracture. The NP’s best guess was my eating disorder in my teens screwed up my bones. Several years on Actonel, then stopped due to GI side effects and no one thought to follow up for the next several years, despite me now being menopausal. Another fracture happened before someone took it seriously. I was recommended to try Prolia then, but was terrified of side effects and did Fosamax for the next few years. During that time (and 3 more mild fractures) Evenity was being recommended more, I decided to try it. Expensive co pay, but worth it in the end. My spine went from -4.5 to -3.0. My only side effects were painful arms where the injections were given, lasted about 12 hours each time and was manageable. I started Prolia last August and have had 2 injections. No side effects that I can definitely connect to it, since the last one I’ve had some off and on jaw and facial pain, but my jawbone is fine and it’s mostly mild pain. 2 more and then I am supposed to go to Reclast. I have had 5 mild compression fractures altogether (I don’t think I have had any more) and hopefully won’t have more. I was afraid of every med because of posts about horrible side effects, and yes, they can happen, but I am glad I went ahead with the meds.
