I am sorry for your history with this. I too am having some problems with Anastrozole and feel that information is not fully and frankly communicated at treatment commencement . This seems an area crying out for more research to be conducted , as the effects seems to be so variable and wide ranging in severity for many people. Definitely more quality of life assessment needs to be undertaken as part of risk / benefit analysis.
Thank you so much. Had DCIS 22 years ago, negative nodes. Mastectomy because margins weren’t clear. Offered tamoxifen I declined. Fluke order from PCP a month ago resulted in bilateral routine mammogram and a brand new tumor in mastectomy breast! 2 different surgeons pushed hard back at me to agree to hormone blockers. I continue to decline but your note gives me strength. I am 70. I have osteopenia so if go on hormones then they will want diphosphates which have significant side effects.
Agreed to radiation. Thanks
My hair has been falling out lately. Way more than I've ever seen. I had every symptom you had except the diarrhea. My oncologist told me after a year AIs wern't necessary for me, only suggested. I had early stage 2 slow growing ILC. I think the tumor was 5mm. I had a lumpectomy w/ negative sentinel nodes, 100% E&R fed and HER2 neg. I had a DMX 6 months after the lumpectomy for prevention. No radiation or chemo. I'm still suffering from brain fog, hair loss and tired all the negative. I hope I hope I made the right decision and I get back to normal soon. It makes me nervous not taking it. I hope your hair stops falling out.
Ye gods! I want to stop the Letrezole immediately. I already have osteoporosis and at risk for blood clots. I thought the aches and pains were due to my age, 79. But going bald is adding insult to injury. Also the insomnia is awful.
