Desperate for relief - thinking of pain stimulator for lower back pain
3 years of they think xL4L5 S1 pain - had hemilectomy on one side - worse - had 8 steroid injections 2 ablations - custom orthotics acupuncture PT many times. Have osteoporosis never should have operated - have T-12 T11 L1 compressed fractures from operation - pain goes at times from butt, performis down right leg-walk with rollator and go on stationery bike - 2 MRIs can’t pin point where compression is pressing on which nerve - sciatic right leg goes to an 8 or 9

That makes sense because as my Dr explained when you are lying down for mri nothing is compressed -.have to ask about mylogram -
Right side - had S1 injection - didn’t help - I had custom shoe boots made to align my body - it helps some but by afternoon sciatic pain is an 8 - back pain I can deal with - it’s the pain down back if leg and calf that is so bad
An X-ray saw a little hook from arthritis and from the first shot, my pain that I had for years was gone for about 5 solid days. First time in a long time. The pain came back. The shot was just some pain numbing solution. It showed that it was my problem was a pinched nerve. I had to have a second injection because my insurance company required it to make sure I had the same relief from the second injection as I did with the first injection. The final injection will be to abrade the nerve. It’s not a permanent solution. The nerve will grow back in six months or more, but if I can get relief after years of pain, I’ll take it. If it comes back, I’ll get another ablation
The exact same thing happened to me and now I 'm being recommended for an SI joint fusion which would require a rather long recovery. Being NWB and inactive for 3 mos would not be good for me and my Parkinson'd disease.
I can’t have surgery due to osteoporosis- good luck to you
Hello I had a bone growth stimulator after my spinal fusion because I wasn't healing. It definitely helped. Wear it several hours a day.
I have had two spinal fusions. After the second surgery in 2017 I was still experiencing extreme lower back pain. My pain doctor thought a spinal cord stimulator was worth a try. I had it implanted in 2019. I never received any pain relief from it, in fact, I was have pain at the site of the battery. Just last month I had it removed. It very well could help others, it just didn’t help with my pain at all. Good luck!
Thanks for info
Thank you
Wow! sounds like what I'm going thru. I had 6 steroid injections, 2 ablations, also had the doctor drill into the backbone and burn the nerve. Nothing helps. I just went to another doctor about having the HFX implant. Not sure I want go that route but I running bout of options. I had this pain for 4 years, and it's affecting my walking. I just to a spill early today.
