Yup to jeepgirl; Thats what I kind of thought. I went through menopause 17 years ago (I'll reveal! 67 now) and there was no discussion of HRT at that time. There was also no discussion about bone health after menopause, no dexa (not till 65!) etc. As I had zero symptoms with menopause so nothing to treat I guess. I assume there will be no estrogen in my future but I am lining up every medical pro to talk to about this osteoporosis diagnose/treatment as the next treatment is the once a year reclast infusion which scares me to death.

Jozer: First of all, it (osteoporosis) creeps up slowly and you don't notice it until it's there or whenever you get the dexa scan. Please be very careful taking any meds for this condition, and I do mean ANY. You should be scared. Once you start putting them in your body it cannot be reversed. We have to be our own advocate if we want to win this battle. Please refer to Drs Laura Kelly's and Helen Bryman Kelly's book 'The Healthy Bones' Nutrition Plan and Cookbook. The issue of treating this condition is ONLY through food and supplementation (until I can get the food I need) for me. Then once I've accomplished making homemade bone broth, etc. I will be consuming that instead of supplementing the vitamins, mincrals I need for maintenance.
