@sor1959 I was just noticing I had not answered your reply to me last August from this post. I am so sorry for that and pray you have done well with your hysterectomy.
I think I must have updated my actual staging once I had the surgery in September of last year on another post and thought I had answered everyone who had commented and was so helpful. I apologize to those I did not reply to, and did appreciate all of your help and prayers.
Update to my situation is I did have the Davinci Robotics surgery and recovered quite well from it. The 4 week visit to my oncologist after the surgery was not great as she revealed to me that I had Stage 111C, with a mismatch repair gene problem. I did have some involvement in two of my lymph nodes, which they removed and two that did not have involvement of cancer cells was also removed. I have had CT Scans since then that show NED, and my first Signatera (ctDNA) blood test revealed 0.00 circulating tumor cells in my blood stream. I had opted to not take Chemo at the time due to my immune system being so ravaged at the time. So, the resulting test made me feel very good. The next 2 test have revealed a slight rise, but well below the quantitative measurement, for the test, and they have now incorporated into my testing a CA 125 cancer marker, which also came back normal as well and 6-month CT scans, so far praise God all are showing NED.
I know my oncologist was not happy when I told her I did not want to do Chemo now, but I had to build myself up before I could even consider that. She was telling me they got all of the cancer yet wanted to give me chemo drugs to shrink a tumor that was gone. I may have to consider it in the future, but I knew I could not withstand it at that time. My prayer is it continues to show NED on all of the testing.
I have been seeing a Naturopath / Nutritionist to try to get myself back in a healthy state and make sure I was managing my diet correctly. Dr. Williford put me on all kinds of pharmaceutical grade supplements and took me off of Gluten & Dairy among other things to try and get the inflammation and gut issues sorted out so I could absorb nutrients properly. My adrenals were shot and the EBV I've battled for so long is now starting to calm down a bit. I have seen a large improvement in my health and immune system in the past several months. And thank GOD the pain I was having is gone and I at least know now what direction to head in for better overall health.
Praying you are recovered and have had good results from your surgery.
God Bless,
Kathy
@kkathysan Thank you for your update and replying to @sor1959. I appreciate all the care you put into this post and providing the reasons why you declined chemotherapy. Whether or not to pursue more treatment is a very individual decision but I can see many people who may have second-guessed you.
It’s reassuring that your change in diet and nutrients as directed by the naturopathic doctor you see is working for you. It’s so discouraging to live with chronic pain.
How are you feeling overall? With these changes do you feel like doing more of the things you enjoy?
