I have a tortorus colon and the miralax prep was a nightmare. The prep took 2 days to come out and the diarrhea was uncontrollable. Colonoscopy failed could not get pass sigmoid because of diverticula’s disease. They are recommending surgery. I am so scared just had open heart in 2022. Can someone help I would have to drink this prep again for surgery I would never make it to the hospital.

I see some comments about MiraLAX and Gatorade. I’ve never tried that, but maybe you wouldn’t have to take the prep for surgery. They probably just wanna make sure you’re kind of cleaned out. I hope you don’t have to do it again. I did it once about 13 years ago, the liquid I mean, and for some Reason it didn’t bother me and I’m so grateful. I only drank half of it though, because I hadn’t been eating very much. They said I was fine! So, maybe if you’re smaller or you haven’t been eating a lot of food, you don’t need all of it. At least I didn’t. Good luck!

Have you and your doctor discussed taking Sutab instead? It's 12 pills taken at specific intervals. It worked better than the liquid for me and was easier to take.
