Yes, back 20 yrs ago I used to have episodes of gout in my joints of my big toes !! I took allopurinol for 20yrs but don't anymore, once in awhile I get a twinge but it goes away. This not same feeling. But thanks for the reply!!
I use cherry juice whenever my gout starts to flare up. I control my diet and fluid intake daily with filtered water. I have to wear slippers around the house and I always wear socks. I have the stiff big toe diagnosis (hallus rigidus I think it’s spelled) and neuropathy as well as Morton’s neuroma and a hist of other stuff. So far I’ve kept the gout in check without any separate meds but I do take gabapentin for neuropathy
Absolutely!
I had it so bad! Went to doctor ( not from Mayo ) and they with didn't believe me or couldn't do anything about it.
Finally, I injected my big left toe with an essential oil called helichrysum ethic is supposed to repair nerve damage. I had convinced myself to try it... if it didn't work well, it couldn't be worse than the pain I already had.
Well, I didn't clean of my toe with isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol) and so it got infected. I went right away to the hospital when I saw three black dots ( I was shaky when I injected it). I stuck the needle in until it hit the bone.
The three dots were tiny (I would say the size of a needle :-d)... but got larger. I recognized that they were necrotic. The doctor put me on 4 different bags of antibiotics to no avail. So, he sent me home even though the necrosis was getting worse! So I went home and the pain was really bad so I went back in. It was like he was all ready to cut off my toe when he got there which is what he did. Afterwards, they gave me Tylenol and some narcotic. That barely touched my pain and I ended up screaming in pain all night because t they would not give me pain relief medication. He comes in and says, "Huh, it usually doesn't hurt that much. " I had called my wife in the middle of the night crying ( I don't cry, we just didn't do that in my family). I told her to come and get me but she would not. I think the doctors thought i was drug seeking, which I was, but only to relieve my pain! I never did drugs. EVER!
I still have neuropathy pain in that toe but now I treat it (topically) with Lavender cream from Plant Therapy. I massage it on twice a day and it really does the trick. I also take pregabulin-150mg bid and rosuvastatin-5mg bid which helps with the pain.
I used a cylindrical array of RED and NIR light emitting diodes. Three rings mounted through holes drilled into a short length of 1.5 inch PVC pipe. Reminds one of a corncob. The treatment area is inside but there is some outside scatter. The first and third rings are made up of 10 REDs, The second ring is made up of 12 NIRs. Worked for me both times I tried it. Caveat: gout does come and go on its own.
I hope you find some relief soon!!
