@johnnyguitar
18 years ago I was diagnosed with neuropathy. Before that I was diagnosed as RLS and ended up on Gabapentin for 3 years at a low dosage. Until recently, I had been elevated to 2400mg / day. I have substituted medical cannabis and only take 600mg / day.

Now to address your point. I have an advanced case and can guarantee to you that neuropathy does attack autonomic nerves that control functions such as blood pressure, sweating, heart rate, digestion and bladder function. I can no longer work in the sun once temperatures reach 85+ degrees. 10 minutes and I am drenched in eccrine sweat from the waist up and with my body turning inside out like that, I experience extreme heat stroke symptoms. Those include everything autonomic.

Anybody remember the George Carlin joke about being so sick that you say “I don’t care about my new shoes” before continuing with autonomic digestive problems?

Sounded better when he said it.
