polio and triple arthrodesis

I had polio as a child (1954). I had a triple arthrodesis at age 18. I joined the general work force until age 60 when I had to finally retire. I did a lot of walking the last 15 years on the job. I have been retired for 10 years. I have developed a corn on the ball of my foot that i cant get rid of. It is very painful and sometimes walking around is near impossible. It is directly under a scar i have on the top of my foot. I have seen a doctor, tried many remedies and still have the problem. I have been limping around for 70 years and am tired of it. Does anyone have a ray of hope for me. When i get in a crowd of people i just sit and watch their feet and wonder what it would be like to put one foot in front of the other and take a normal step.

Hi,
I have CMT -Inherited (Charcot Marie Tooth) and when I was in my 30's, I had bilateral ankle triple Arthrodesis with Tendon transfer in different years (one ankle at a time) because of foot outer side roll. I was worklng public jobs ( required a lot of standing from 1976 -2018). Moving forward 2017 I had a brain stem stroke that caused a lot of left foot drop, and knee hyperextension. I now have a Left leg brace that I wear at this time for steadiness and to help lift drop foot.

Your foot corn could be a very deep corn seed planted. Have you seen a Podiatrist or Dermatologist regarding this painful corn ?
