Anyone suffer from leg length discrepancy following a hip replacement

I was told by the orthopedic surgeon that he aligned everything perfectly when replacing hip, but the discrepancy is still there after 18 months and lots of physical therapy. Now causing significant lack pain.

I had THR in 2010. The implant is still functioning very well, but the surgeon was not aware that my spine had auto-fused with my pelvis prior to surgery. (I don’t know if he should have been aware of the fusion or why it occurred). The implant in THR is often made slightly longer for stability on the assumption that the pelvis will shift to accommodate the longer leg (at least that was what I was told). My pelvis was immovable because of the auto-fusion. As a consequence, I had a leg length differential that caused increasingly severe back pain even with lifts in my shoes. Long story short: I had a THR on the other side 5 years later (I have arthritis in virtually every joint) and a different surgeon “evened” me out and I only experience back pain infrequently now.

My experience may be unique and of no benefit to anyone else, but I offer it just in case. I was 59 with my first THR.
