Suspected Endometrial Cancer: Cervix won't open to do biopsy

Posted by debra54 @debra54, Feb 1, 2023

The lining of my uterus is thick so they tried to do a biopsy but my cervix would not open and they mentioned having a hysterocmy but I'm not sure about doing that without knowing if it's cancer or not.

@kb72069, did you get the results of your diagnostic testing? What did you learn? How are you doing?

Well, thanks for asking they attempted to do my endometrial biopsy on April 10 and were unsuccessful because apparently my cervix is “angry“ and they found a polyp which was removed and screened all of my screenings so far have come back benign or no evidence of abnormal cells. The endometrial biopsy will have to be done under anesthesia because my cervix was too hard to get through apparently.

Wow, I wish I had known that there was a pill that would dilate your cervix last summer when my biopsy failed. Might have saved the month it took to schedule the hysteroscopic D&C. I wonder why my Dr. didn't suggest that. Grr.

What were the findings with your hysteroscopic D&C?

Not good. I'm still hanging out on the gynecological cancer forum almost 3 years later. I hope your visit here is brief.
