Has anyone with an ileostomy dealt with nonstop nausea?

Sorry to read that so many of you/us are suffering with nausea, especially since there doesn't seem to be a solution yet. For just over a year I've had a colostomy and urostomy/ileostomy, both permanent. My symptoms aren't exactly nausea, but close: eating, and even the thought of food are out much of the time. The feeling is a lot like the debilitating generalized sensation that comes after experiencing a sharp pain such as slipping off a bicycle seat onto the crossbar, or slamming your thumb with a hammer.
I suspect that the problem is related to the colostomy: when it's actively working--changing size and shape, heating up, not necessarily producing stool--then I feel sick. This can go on all day. I am able to get relief by lying down, but who wants to lie down so much? The good news is that at least I can sleep okay at night.
I've monitored and modified my diet so that the stool is fairly hard and much easier to deal with than the soft stuff. However, the output is completely irregular, and I do wish it would be more predictable.
The osteomy nurse and colorectal surgeon I've seen about this issue both recommend a scope, but I'm definitely not in shape for that, especially the prepping. And based on the evidence that turns up irregularly, I'm sure there isn't a blockage.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Reading everyone’s story concerning nausea, all of us have different symptoms, different conditions and different treatments. Some that have worked and others that haven’t. I’m glad my 6 weeks of solid nausea was resolved when “silent” reflux was diagnosed and appropriate medication was prescribed. Happy to say I’m nausea free but it’s not the answer for everyone, obviously.
