I just came off Evenity after 3 months. When I received my first bill from January it was 507.00. I called to find out what the remaining balance would be and they said that’s what I have to pay out of pocket for all of the twelve months. Over 6k. For me I can not afford it so good luck with your 12 months and hopefully you get the results you want. Btw that is being on Humana Medicare.

Check with the drug manufacturer and also with Humana to see if any help programs exist. I have United Health Care as Advantage Plus coverage (low income combining Medicare and Medicaid). I would not recommend them on some things (for sure) but would suggest checking into any difference you might consider as my coverage has no co-pay and no deductible. No one should stop needed medical help due to their inability to pay. Every hospital should also have a social worker to check on options available specifically for your own circumstances. If you have a spouse and one has more medical needs, sometimes even that can be separated to help qualify. Consider checking on any research groups or studies in your area that might offer free Evenity for your participation or feedback. I was getting Xgeva for a long time with no problems. My cancer doctor decided to switch me to Prolia and with dental care conflicting with Prolia I ended up going from 6 to 12 fractured vertebrae in my spine.
There were other factors involved (except for the one where I barely moved a half empty planter and garden hose reel a few inches, not lifting them but just slid them over a few inches). One other word of caution, with at least some of the bone strengthening products on the market, I have read that stopping them can cause a reverse in bone strength, so please at least check on that. Best wishes for your continued bone health. I just had my 6th injection of Evenity and meet with the Endocrinologist the first week in May to go over everything and see what progress (if any) I have hopefully made.

My last 6 month of Evenity was horrible with pain and neuropathy pain excerbation. After last dose pain is decreasing except in my left hip and leg. Never have had hip pain before. I can not have a scan until December so not sure it help. I am upping supplement and probably will not repeat any more infusion of any kind. This has really altered my lifestyle. Just my experience. Good luck.

I dob't know where you live, but I paid for my own DEXA scan because I wanted it after 8 mos for teriparatide (Forteo generic) and it cost me $90. It was worth it for me. I think you have to know if something is working.

Thank you for that because I have checked for anything generic that is bone building and came up with nothing.

Yes, Medicare advantage plans generally leave you with a large out-of-pucker. Regular Medicare with a supplement has fully covered all of the drugs I have been on-Prolia, Reclast, Evenity—once I met my deductible. So glad I opted for that. It is more monthly but I am never left with a big bill. And people on any government programs, including Medicare, are usually never eligible for drug company discount cards. Hope you can find a way.
