A .2 micron filter will remove NTM. There is one used in dental offices that fits a standard in-line dual or triple cartridge water filter. You place the large (2 micron) and medium (1.0, .9 or .5 micron) particle filters first and the
.2 micron filter last. Place the in-line filter as close as possible to the sink being filtered, and try to use only a short vertical run of pipe to the faucet. This leaves nowhere for water to sit after filtering and accumulate bacteria. Change the filters per instructions and your volume of use. If any bacteria breeds in the charcoal filters, it cannot pass through the final filter.

Someday I plan to dismantle the .2 mic filter to see what it I made of.

Well that would be good if correct. I’m only talking from my research. A company here in Australia who are working with Curtin university have told me different. They said run if anyone tells you 0.2 0.5 will eliminate NTM it would require reverse osmosis which filters to 0.001 - 0.0005.
That’s why this is a big decision and a question of who is right. Appreciate your input Sue. Personally I think more research is required by professional and qualified personnel!
