My husband has tinnitus and started MetFormim 500 mg in May, he says this is making it so much worse.....anyone on this ? He has seen the ENT & Audiologist this past week, Dr. says MetFormin is not making it worse but why would it be worse after starting if this is not related ? Left ear is bad so Audiologist suggested hearing aids in which I am looking into, Any advice is anyone is wearing hearing aids ?

I'd be happy to wear hearing aids if they eliminated my tinnitus, but I'd like some confirmation of this before I spend thousands of dollars!

I’d first talk with the doctor who gave him the Metformin. My husband takes it and has not had that issue, but each patient is different. I’ve had tinnitus off and on my entire life. I was born with Congenital Rubella Syndrome. Deaf in my left ear with partial hearing in my right. I just decided at age 71 to order the BiCross Hearing aids. I get them in May. There is an app you can download for tinnitus and it helped me. I do find that caffeine affects it. I also avoid loud places like nosy restaurants, concerts and any place with loud atmospheres. Hope it gets better!
