Thank you for sharing this article/study. As a 65 yo who made the decision to stop Prolia after one injection it provides some reassurance about my decision. I was diagnosed last January after a Dexa showed -2.6 in my lumbar spine. As I have early stage kidney disease, I consulted my docs who recommended Prolia. While I didn't have any major side affects I was concerned about long term use and did more reasearch and saw a rheumatologist. He recommended that I continue Prolia, dismissing my concerns. I requested further tests and a new Dexa, which showed improvement in all areas. He attributed this to the one shot of Prolia, but I have my doubts. The second Dexa was more thorough and done by a more experience technician. I have decided to delay any treatment and continue my weight bearing exercise and diet program, and to have another Dexa in one year. The Rheum thought this was a reasonable plan (!). Given the study findings about long term use for younger patients and those with kidney issues, I will continue to be wary of Prolia for the time being. I am very appreciate of this group and those who share their experiences and information!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am 68 and have had one injection, also. I took it because my doctor prescribed it & I trusted her. After researching on my on I am appalled that she didn’t tell me about all the negative side effects! I have decided to discontinue it & changed doctors. I am apprehensive about the rebound effect. Have you had any experience with that?
