After 4 Evenity shot

Posted by ktsw @ktsw, Apr 8 9:34am

I'm 67 with osteoporosis and have had 4 shots of evenity. I now have atopic dermatitis that is not going away with treatment and have developed an allergy to wine and vodka, which I never had before.
I have celiac disease, well under control but not going to continue with evenity. has anyone else experienced this ?

I had my 4th Evenity injection 14 hrs ago. It’s 5 am I should be asleep. Instead I have excruciating thigh bone and lower leg pain such that I cannot lay down or sit I’m standing in agony My first 3 injections were uneventful Has anyone experienced this?

From everything I've been reading stopping Evenity will resolve your effects. I have also read that the first four injections give you the best bone acquisition. The trouble is that you have to take something else or you'll lose the profits of your suffering. Do you have ideas about which medication you'll take next.

Yikes. My new Dr is leaning towards Evenity for me. Have you had gains on it with your first 3 injections?
Gosh, are you feeling better? What’s next then?

My hip and thigh pain started at my 7th shot. Called Dr and that was it nothing. I finished my 12 injections in February and here in April still have left groin and femur pain but not as sharp. I also have osteoarthritis which has exacerbated since receiving Evenity. I am hoping it will get better but has not yet. Concerned how this has altered my life style. Good luck

Oh gosh this isn’t good to hear Judy. I’m not familiar with osteoarthritis, is that something they tested you for? I do feel I must also have arthritis of some kind as the Dr alluded to the pain I have is likely arthritis? So how do I know? I need to learn more about this as I’m likely asking questions I should be researching more about. It’s all so complicated and confusing to me.

Hello @patwerthman,

Starting a new medication, especially those as powerful as osteoporosis medications, can always be a stressful time. When researching medications it can be overwhelming when finding a lot of the unfortunate experiences and can be hard to find the positive experiences. I finished Evenity a year and a half ago. Had no pain prior to Evenity but like you around 6-7th shots muscle and joint pain to the point it was difficult to even get dressed. Pain is gone now. I quit after 11th shots as I felt like I had ruined my health. I am very active and it sidelined me for quite awhile. Had wonderful gains in spine but minimal in the other two sites. It did take me out of the osteoporosis range but will not have a DEXA scan until this Fall. I have previously posted about this as have others. Many tolerate Evenity it seems with no pain but I was not one of them. Taking Actonel now as I was hesitant to use Recast after my Evenity experience.
