Chemotherapy-induced neuropathy: What helps get rid of it?

Posted by taxlady @taxlady, Jan 31, 2023

I finished chemo April of 2022
I have neuropathy in my fingers and feet. It doesn’t seem to be going away. What are treatments I can do to help get rid of it.

I have chemo-induced neuropathy. I get relief every morning and evening for at least a few hours and sometimes all day/night using Raitera Neuropathy Relief Cream. It has Frankincense, arnica, aloe vera, hemp. I also have being doing acupuncture which proves more long-term relief. Still, nothing has healed it. And now I am back in chemo again.

@deserthykr, welcome. I moved your message to this existing discussion:

I did this to help you connect with other members talking about chemo-induced neuropathy. You will find other related discussions in the Cancer: Managing Symptoms support group https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/cancer-managing-symptoms/

May I ask what type of cancer you have and what chemo drugs you will be starting? Is it the same protocol you had previously?

So sorry for your condition and believe me I know the feeling even though I am not in chemo territoty. Having been recently diagnosed with large fiber peripheral neuropathy along with cervical and lumbar radiculopathy after almost one year of initial onset, I am to the point of not being able to step on the bottom of my feet because of the constant pain. Hoping to get just a little bit of pain alleviating treatment once I see my neurologist beginning of May.
Wish you the best.

I started gentle yoga classes 3 times a week in December and the exercises are definitely helping the chemo-induced neuropathy in my toes. Nothing else seems to have helped.

You may wish to try regular weekly acupuncture.
