@dlydailyhope I love the zoo! You've got me beat! I have 5 adopted shelter cats. Two of them are full calicos from the cat colony at Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. For a number of years, I had 3 cats including my first calico who had been sent to a shelter here as a kitten from Puerto Rico, and I adopted her with another kitten to join the tuxedo male that I had. I added a spotted tabby calico last fall. Then right before Christmas, I saw a post for a 5 month old calico kitten looking for a home. She was looking at a Christmas tree and I melted. I contacted her foster mom in Puerto Rico to ask questions so I could get a sense of how she would work out before I bought her plane ticket. A volunteer brought her as carry on luggage and I picked her up at the airport. I now have lots of experience as a cat trainer and working with all the feline personalities to ease their transition. I have stayed in touch with her foster mom in Puerto Rico and I get a chance to practice my Spanish. We both text pictures and video about the cats, and I get to see some pretty pictures from Puerto Rico. That has been wonderful to have a new friend. She taught my kitten to be loving and sweet. She's now a rambunctious "teenager" who loves to play.

I'm always glad for your company in the Spine Health group. I'm glad your critters bring you so much joy. They do have a way of helping our health and well being. I have also saved some abandoned baby birds. I'm glad to know that you and I share empathy for animals in need.
