Hi,
I have CIC but also have pelvic dyssenergia. Does anyone else have that? I have been to pelvic floor PT but still can’t evacuate completely. Wonder if anyone has any suggestions. Thank you

Lordy…..I will now need to get a new team of doctors. Ugh….My SIBO tests are early next month.

I was diagnosed with SIBO before too. I cannot fully empty. I go to the bathroom all day with just little pieces of stool because my pelvic muscles don’t work correctly and then I get overflow diarrhea.

Mine’s a little different, but I would like to be tested.

The most helpful tool for me has been a pelvic wand. My pelvic floor PT recommended I purchase one through a company called Intimate Rose. It has been a huge help. My pelvic floor muscle tone is extremely high, and the wand is designed to train those muscle to be more relaxed and, thus, help with expulsion. I am also kn Motegrity, Miralax, Senna, Mg for slow transit.

Do the medications and laxatives help with your slow transit and do you experience overflow or paradoxical diarrhea. I use dilators which help with pelvic floor but was thinking about trying the wand. Thank you for your reply.

Yes, the laxatives and Rx meds do help move things along. I am in a state of diarrhea 95% of the time, possibly due to all of the meds I am on. I keep an aggressive regimen because I am prone to SIBO. Even with diarrhea I have had x-rays that show a moderate to large stool burden. It really is hard to discern what's "going on in there" without imaging, but sometime I can tell by how I feel (bloated, pressure, etc). It gets tiresome and discouraging being so focused on the digestive system , but I am thankful I can be on a regular diet for the most part.

Same with me except I have diarrhea all day long. How do you function like this. I have to take miralax three times a day which makes leaving the house next to impossible. Is this just how it’s going to be? All of my x rays are the same. Moderate stool burden even though I have diarrhea all the time.

This sounds like it might help me. I think I have high pelvic tone too. Can I just see the PT on my own?

It seems, when I check, I am ready to go…..but it just sits there. But this is intermittent. Some days it works right. Others…..nothing happens.

This may be TMI, but is the training done for vaginal relaxation (pelvic wand) or anal?

I do not know how it works at Mayo as far as seeing PT, I actually do the majority of my health care elsewhere.

The wand has 2 ends, one for vaginal insertion and one for rectal, so it can be used for either. The company I bought mine from (Intkmate Rose) has great tutorial videos on YouTube. I have only used the rectal route. I will also feel that things need to come out but will not, but after I use the wand (sometimes for a very short time, even as short as a minute) I will have a movement.

I actually have somewhat of a predictable pattern with my bowel movements, where I get into trouble is in the afternoon and know it is best if I can be home then. I know, I wish the doctors would further explain how someone who has primarily diarrhea can have a moderate to large stool burden. They usually just tell me to do a home Miralax clean out. Oh, by the way, I take my Miralax dose all at once in the morning, I am currently on 4 capful daily. I tolerate it fine taking it all at once, but I know everyone is different.
