Is there some reason she would make that assumption? What if you let her know you really were sick?

Everyone is different, but I changed the way I have always interacted with my mom recently. She was in the hospital for a couple of weeks (she’s fine now) and I gained perspective on how she treated me, which caused me aggravation. I now tell her exactly what I think in a nice way and explain my expectations of her in how she treats me. It’s a big improvement and causes me a lot less stress and worry. I saw a therapist in gaining skills to do it.
