I am not a medicine man but I would wager that after those two years enough "resistance" built up in your bladder neck area so that it no longer provided more resistance to travel than what the normal pathway through your urethra and out of the body provided. I have read that the surgeon in JAX is quite well-known for good outcomes with the Holep procedure. I utilized the Mayo Rochester surgeon who had the same status with the Rezum procedure although ultimately Rezum outcome regressed for me - my prostate was over 100ml when he did the procedure so I was, and was certainly aware, that I was "outside" the preferred candidate for Rezum but since I reasoned that the procedure itself was the "safest" attempt to solve my problem I decided on it. I never had a UTI, only had RE when I was on double-dosed Flomax. Now my wife tells me my volume has actually increased, FWIW. But my lack of sleep is causing me to rethink my plan; I am leaning toward Holep at this date. I am up 5 times a night now and only can void miniscule amounts unless I stand there and somehow "relax" my pelvic floor muscles, but it is a challenge to reproduce the state of mind necessary to relax your body to allow additional voiding - it is sort of difficult to explain.
