@msvette

to gently,
Thank you for your response. Today (Easter Sunday....a Day of Miracles? perhaps, hopefully) & this morning, I took my 2nd dose of Alendrolate. I am feeling much better. My vision has cleared and I will hope the rest of the day goes on without issues. I do not understand the medical jargon, but these are the numbers pertaining to my March 14th Dexa scan:
BMD T-Scores % Young Z-Score % Age Body Part
gm/cm2 Ref Match Ref Match
0.556 -2.60 65.0% -0.80 86.0% L. Femoral Neck
0.592 -2.90 63.0% -1.30 79.0% L Total Hip
0.726 -2.90 69.0% -0.80 90.% Total Spine
I am almost 71 yo, 5' 1/2" tall & 90lbs. I live alone in Az. from Mass. No Family Don't trust people anymore, so I do not socialize. I only venture out to pick up groceries, go to the library to pick up books, & go to Dr. appointments.(only see Nurse Practitioners). I sit outside & read. Thank you for trying to help me.

Hi @msvette and @gently, your post with your Dexa scores has been published see the above post here: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/1286066/

msvette, I'm glad you are feeling better. Hoping the side effects are over. Some people get achy joints with alendronate after a time. Maybe you won't. While your dxa scores say that you are osteoporotic (any thing lower than -2.5 is indicative), smaller bones measure lower numbers because the measure less space. You may deserve a higher score. But you've passed the period of time where you lose the most bone. Alendronate may be a very good drug for you.
Your life sounds very nice, uncomplicated, sitting in the AZ sun. What kinds of books do you like to read?
You might not care the least about the medical jargon but
the first number 0.556 is the amount of mineral per square centimeter
then -2.6 compares your mineral to that of a healthy 30 year old called the T-score
