Has anyone with an ileostomy dealt with nonstop nausea?

Yes!!! First off I’ll assume she’s tried anti-nausea drugs like Zofran, right? Since surgery is so recent for her, the nausea is likely still surgery related so my eventual diagnosis may not be what your daughter needs but this is what finally worked for me.

Not only do I have an amazing gastro dr in Florida but I also work with a virtual ostomy dietitian who has done wonderful things for me and my health and since she works with so many ostomy patients she has more knowledge than most drs!! And she asked the right questions for me to ask my dr when I finally decided I needed to see my gastro dr. I’ll start this by saying I have never suffered from reflux and I still don’t don’t feel any reflux now BUT ostomy patients have a history of suffering from “silent” reflux and my gastro dr concurred and my ongoing nausea symptoms were cured by putting me on an anti-reflux medication. In 5 days my nausea was gone! Omeprazole was the drug that did the trick for me and I am finally nausea free. I have an ileostomy (14 months ago) but if she’s taken all kinds of nausea medication already this condition might be something to ask her dr about. I suffered 6 straight weeks of non-stop nausea so I know how she’s feeling!! Best of luck to her! Yvette

What is the name of the stony dietician and contact info please?

Thank you Yvette! What part of FL and what is the name and contact info for the ostomy dietician. She is on omneprazole but not much relief. Wondering if this has to do with her steroid taper. Anybody have any input on that? Thanks!
