Has anyone had laminectomy then needed spinal fusion?

pattyo1,
fusion will solve the instability. I only know from friends how excruciating the pain is from the bones rubbing over the nerves.
There isn't always a good way of knowing if laminectomy will sustain stability. I hope you'll be posting soon about easy recovery and no pain.

I’m not an advocate for spinal fusion. If you fuse L3 and L4 you are now placing added stress on the above and below the fused level. Eventually requiring a fusion of L2 & L3 or L4 & L5. This will continue to add more stress requiring more fusions.

I went to the neurosurgeon yesterday and now have another issue. I have arachnoiditis along with the spondylolisthesis. I could try a nerve stimulator before surgery since the arachnoiditis may be the primary source of the pain. I have to make a difficult decision. Any input is wekcome!
