Do the nerves grow back? Is this why repeat ablation is needed? I am working with a good pain Dr. here in Atlanta area. I did call Mayo today on their program.

I think the nerves do grow back. I had an ablation June 2024 at Mayo and still ok. Made a difference as experienced after each of the two “test” injections. Had my right hip replaced (traumatic fall) 2019 not at Mayo—near where I fell so and I do have pain and some issues. Never sure of which issue causes the pain.

Before the ablation I had 3 (at once) trigger point injection. Helped a lot!

I had one done yesterday! I love them!
After it was done yesterday, I felt the effects immediately. The numbing shots may have been part of that immediate result. I was so grateful I started tearing up. I hope no one noticed at the pain clinic! It was such a blessed relief.
The nerves do grow back. I get as many as I can, as frequently as I can. I think you have to wait 3 months? I was in such pain it hurt to be awake. Moving, standing was torture. Now, I feel 20 to 30 percent of what I felt before the procedure. I actually don't move well now, because it took so long to have my other medical issues get out of the way. My pain clinic has rules - no antibiotics, prednisone, aspirin, etc. I think it has been 6 to 9 months since my last one before yesterday. I have a good doctor too. I wish you the best!
