Thank you , this is encouraging. I am 70, just diagnosed with osteoporosis- barely in the zone in spine -2.6, still osteopenia zone in hip and femur. Both my GP and endocrinologist I was referred to want me to go on meds (GP- Fosamax, endo Recast infusion). I am very hesitant. I am a runner and have a fairly healthy diet - would like to add weight training and further improve my diet, see what the dexa scan says in 2 years. Also considering a supplement - my neighbor recommends "Metagenics." Not sure how that compares with Nature's Path. Will do some research. I know everything is a tradeoff at this point, but I am very leery of the meds - some people have a good experience but for those who don't - wow! And no way of knowing which category I'll fall into (bad pun sorry).
Lucy, do you take both the bone collagen and regular collagen everyday or do you alternate?
The natural path is the path I am also attempting with exercise, weights, diet, K2, D3, and calcium. Looking for new collagen since Modere went out of business. Also considering bone broth. Not sure what magnesium, if any, I should take.
Wow! That's really encouraging! I've been hesitant to take additional collagen peptides with the bone health, as I wasn't sure if that might be 'too much'. I also have rheumatoid arthritis, and am on medications for that, so I always have to be careful I'm not taking something that interacts with them. Doctor's aren't a lot of help advising about this, as they don't have that much info about collagen peptides. Hope your progress continues, and hope what I'm doing will yield some results, too!
