That definitely happens to me. Sometimes in my life it is a group of people that don't believe me. Sometimes people do it intentionally (like what low quality characters they are). Sometimes when I told someone something, like I met this interesting person, they were like "Oh yea, where do they live!?" as if saying "I don't believe you. You have to prove it.". The fact is though the truth is the truth no matter what anyone else thinks. You'll always come out far ahead if you tell the truth. Never exaggerate either.
