Was referred to local mental health clinic by my gp I was on Effexor before that but had desperate side effects like drowning night swets and still had panic anxiety on it I’m hoping lexapro will get better as they say it gets worse before better ie can take few weeks this is first week now on 15mg started at 5mg then 10mg now 15 mg for last 7 days I was hoping it would have effect by now as i need to get a part time job but I’m having panic attacks in the house so bad some days I can’t leave I’ve told the clinic I’m dealing with and they said it takes time but also constantly feel sick but the panic attacks are the worst I got very heavy depressed but that has lifted but has left me with seriously bad anxiety panic attacks

I can empathize with your symptoms and panic attacks. My experience taking anxiety/depression medications (almost 30 years off and on) has been that new medication should start to make you feel a little better after 2 weeks. If there are bad side effects early on, they usually do not get better with time or increased dosages.

Zoloft/sertraline has helped me with panic attacks and anxiety/depression combined with Wellbutrin/bupropion. It can take time and trial and error to find the right medication and if adding a combination drug can improve positive outcomes.
