I've been searching for the cause of peripheral neuropathy for a few years with symptoms getting worse. Two doctors tested and labeled it "idiopathic." Then a month ago a doctor suggested it could be Vitamin B6 Toxicity. He tested and my B6 (pyridoxal) is twice the normal upper range. The issue is, I was not taking mega-vitamins. I was just taking a daily multi-vitamin with 3mg of B6 which shouldn't accumulate to toxic levels. So I've stopped the vitamin and will retest in a month or two. Has anybody else had experience with B6 toxicity related to neuropathy? There is a bit of info on the web, but not much. I'm looking for others who have experienced this, tested, and then tried to detox.

Hello @andil, I combined your discussion with an existing discussion in neuropathy titled:

@margesil started this conversation wondering the same thing as yourself and @dhamil, @26sabrina and @mrterry are just a few members who shared their experience with B6 and neuropathy-like symptoms.

As far as my “search goes” for a “cure” for Peripheral Neuropathy is THERE IS NONE! Time and Patience is the Key. As far as I know “we” are waiting for our Nerves to “heal”. I survived Stage 4 Lung Cancer two and half years ago. I Hate this Neuropathy in my Hands and Feet … BUT I AM ALIVE!

I have Idiopathic peripheral neuropathy and they found a high B6 level years ago on a test; however several years have passed and subsequent tests have not shown highB6 levels and no improvement. I do take a multivitamin I get from Desert Harvest that does not contain B6. But as I say, I think they were grasping at straws.
