Internal Vibrations-Small Fiber Neuropathy

Posted by CaliGirl1 @jyoung1963, Apr 3 9:51am

I have been diagnosed with Small Fiber Neuropathy 4 years ago. I now have internal vibrations that are getting worse over time. Does anyone else have internal vibrations and does anyone have any suggestions on how to relieve this symptom? All comments and suggestions welcome. Thank you.

Be careful taking any supplements, ask your neurologist first. I had been taking some but my new neurologist told me to stop saying that it's a waste of money. I am on Nortripyline for 8 months and now I have a minimum deficit, no pain just some numbness in my toes and fingers.

@26sabrina
My neurologist actually supported me taking alpha Lipoic acid, Acetyl l carnitine and magnesium supplements for small fiber neuropathy. They helped me better than any prescription medication. I did take Cymbalta/duloxetine for a while for nerve pain, osteoarthritis and depression due to chronic pain and it helped for a while but stopped.

When my neurologist put me on muscle relaxers and amitriptyline, I needed to stop soon after because the side effects were intolerable.

Thanks for your contribution here! Very few sensations to compare to these we are experiencing. Yes, whole body vibes similar to a small voltage electrical current continually, and are currently awaiting small punch skin biopsy (SPSB) results as the first punches were inconclusive with their having been conducted by a neurologist and sent to a specialty lab in/for SFN. Prior to SPSBs, had EMG and NCS performed and the "doc" assuredly stated, "You have no neuropathies." Returned to the web and within 4 minutes found SFN, often undiagnosed. What chaps my posterior is that medical professionals have fiduciary responsibilities to inform of other related possibilities, and in this case with EMG/NCS conducted, no effort was made to inform, if in-fact, that MD (I moved on from him) were aware of SFN. At any rate, the journey continues. Thanks to/for all contributions ... and persevere ... never give up!

I use so many things to manage this. I get the most relief from eliminating the foods known to irritate nerves (gluten, dairy, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, brown rice).

Next most important is taking supplements like (NAC, 5-HTP, Co-Q10, R-ALA, magnesium glycinate, gamma-tocopherol (a form of vitamin E), D3, Omega3s, ferritin, and amino acids). Don't take a multivitamin or B-complex until your B vitamin levels are checked. Too much B6 can make all the SFN symptoms worse and even cause them.

I also take natural herbal remedies that support and calm the central nervous system and help nerves recover (tinctures of milky oat, milk thistle, ashwagandha, ginkgo, gotu kola, hops, and California poppy).

To sleep at night when the vibrations and pain are bad, I alternate between Indica edibles (Indica edibles are the absolute best thing!!!) and Benadryl (high levels of histamines make the vibrations worse).

Vagas nerve guided meditations are super helpful when going to sleep. You can find them free on YouTube.

I wish you all the best! Changing your diet and getting your nutrients tested is the most significant part of feeling better.

Hi
Thank you these posts. I also gave internal vibrations which are getting worse. I’m doing all I can via my diet and proper supplements and am on 150mg pregabalin daily. The vibrations are worse at night as you notice them more. I’ll try the (Indica edibles thank you. I’ve started. Complex so many reduce that to see if it makes a difference. All the best everyone, it’s hard to get help.
