I have been using Dexamethasone Elixir for over 10 years for my LP with great success. It is a corticosteroid mouth rinse that you swish in your mouth for 2-3 minutes then spit it out. You’re not supposed to eat or drink anything for about a 1/2 hour. The bad news is that it is now on back order in Florida…not sure if that applies all over the US…and they Don’t know when it will be available. (Possibly the end of April?)
So my Dermatologist is going to give me a scrip for a different corticosteroid, Fluocinonide 0.05% ad we’ll see how that works. Everyone reacts differently to meds but maybe this is something you can look into? I wish you the best of luck in finding relief SOON!

I just had an appointment with an oral medicine specialist and she is starting me on Dexamethasone .5 mg/5ml sol hikm mouthwash, along with Clobetasol Propionate Cream USP, .05%
Put a bit of the cream on the tongue and then swish with 10 ml of the mouthwash for 3-5 minutes and spit out. Avoid water for 30 minutes after treatment. Repeat until resolution of symptoms or after 2 weeks, whichever comes first. You can put a little bit of the cream right on any lesions if it's really bad. She also prescribed oral lozenges Clotrimazole to dissolve in mouth if a side effect of burning suddenly increases following use of topical steroids.
Then I go back and see the Dr after 2 weeks for an evaluation.
I'll post again and let you know how it works.
