@biga282

She vomits constantly after going on paratineal dialysis about a year ago and a short time after her Thyroidectomy and after her radioactive iodine treatment she switched to hemo. We thought this was the ticket to cure the vomiting but it still persists. She’s down to maybe 115lbs from 135lbs.

@biga282 Dialysis is hard on the body, no matter which modality she does. If she was on peritoneal dialysis and was vomiting, did her PD team have anything to say about that? Perhaps she was reacting to the dextrose solution . But if she is still vomiting even while on hemo [in center?] I would think her team there definitely should be looking into it. Has she tried Zofran to calm the nausea of vomiting? Or compazine to sooth the large digestive muscles that are used in vomiting? I am concerned about the weight loss and the toll that vomiting is doing to her body.

I have been on PD dialysis since Sept 2022, and under cancer treatments for multiple myeloma since Aug 2021. From other transplant patients, they tell me their transplant teams advised they had to be NED [no evidence of disease] for 5 years before being evaluated for transplant. But parameters might have changed. Hoping so, for your daughter!
