I had Diverticulosis for over 15 years and developed a fistula which no doctor wanted to repair When my Diverticulosis no longer could be controlled with antibiotics I had to have a colostomy and it was repaired during the surgery and 18 months later it is fine

Hi, I have had diverticulitis several times over 10 years. The last was last Dec , and before that the same time a year previous, able to be resolved with antibiotics. I now have a fistula to my bladder. Did you end up keeping the colostomy? And how did they repair the fistula, do you know? In my area the only surgeon I have found for this wants to remove my entire sigmoid colon. Seems extreme to me.
