So, in light of my previous good results and others’ good track record…..why did my PC tell not to take Zetia AND my low dose statin? AND my endocrinologist said it probably wouldn’t matter! What? What am I missing? Next month I’m going to take this up with my current endocrinologist.

I don't think Primary Care Dr will be up to date on latest developments in cholesterol medication and which one is most indicated in certain situations.
Many years ago, I was prescribed Atorvastatin (Lipitor) by my Primary Care doctor. Then 3+ years ago they discovered a 70% blockage in LAD. While waiting for a stent, a Nurse in local Cardiology dept doubled my Atorvastatin (to the max dosage) to lower my LDL to under 70. It had no effect - my cholesterol stayed at 95 when they want it below 70! I then saw a cardiologist and he instead prescribed Rosuvastatin (Crestor) with Ezetimibe. That immediately lowered my cholesterol to under 70! I have had no side effects.
