Tymlos causing belly fat?

Thanks for this info - very interesting.

The PTH analogs also increase cortisol levels which leads to more belly fat.

I've been on both Tymlos and Forteo in the past year and noticed significant increases in my belly measurement; increases of 1 to 2 inches with no change in diet. In face, I am eating a better diet (more plants, more protein, fewer carbs, no to low sugar) and an increased level of activity.

I'm not sure that injecting in the thigh would make a difference as the analog enters the blood stream and impacts calcium levels systemically.

I am same! I started off with Tymlos and noticed what I call “my second belly” forming higher on my abdomen. Due to insurance change, I was off all meds for probably a good eight weeks, until I was approved by the new company for generic Forteo. During that time I noticed the second belly diminishing. Now, my dad (who I care for in our home) was hospitalized twice during this time and I was skipping some meals, etc. —so that could have helped as well. But back on meds and that second belly is going strong! (Doesn’t help that I now crave sweets more than I had before—but that could be stress too!)
