This sounds exactly like my husband’s experience. He’s taking oxycodone but they added a fentanyl patch. It makes him loopy! Still looking for a better solution.

First thought--sounds like pretty heavy pharmaceutical weaponry for something that (at least) for me is more a relatively minor aggravation. Hope you and yours find answer(s). Best wishes.
