How many here developed an inguinal hernia after Prostate surgery?

Hey tjm, what’s the “plug” part of that surgery? Curious since I may need to repair an umbilical incisional hernia. Thanks!

So far I only know what I googled. I have my post op next week and that is one of my questions also.

Phil, The plug is made out of same material as the mesh patch. Since it was an open repair he puts in the plug which has a flange that he stitches into the muscle, then he puts the mesh over that and stitches it secure. Says he does all his opens that way.
