Yes, I’m also on insulin which doesn’t help (LADA) I was just recently diagnosed with long covid after going for pr surgical testing & small airway disease showed up in my lungs. I hadn’t been feeling well for quite a while & now one could figure out why (extremely fatigued, palpitations, orthostatic bp with tachycardia, chest pains, swelling in the legs ) now no matter what I can’t seem to lose those 40 pounds & my glucose is way out of whack. I swear it did something to my diabetes, like it made it worse.

Hi @skol1962. I hope this comes across in kind helpful light intended. I have no doubt as I think many others here do too, that our bodies normal functions are decimated by covid. The weight issue can be thyroid, fatigue lack of activity, unable to make healthier food, …. Yet no matter what, some of us have ever-changing weight possibly tied to fluctuating inflammation levels? So my helpful point is as long as one is eating healthy calorie appropriate meals each day coordinated with tolerated activity
( if any🙃) then the body needs to heal and hopefully get back to its old metabolic state for previous weight management.🤞I have the post covid mindset with this, as all other facets of life, and just put on one of the sizes of clothes that fit that day, or dont get dressed at all🙃 Quickest healing journey to you!🌈

Yes. I thought initially that my long haul Covid issues were severe allergies. Every symptom fit until I developed tachycardia and high blood pressure (allergies usually make blood pressure go down, not up ). I was finally tested and have ZERO food or environmental allergies here. Took me some time to digest the results because my symptoms were so very classic to allergies. I was taking the limit (or probably beyond) of allergy meds (OTC). I think the antihistamines increased my hunger and decreased my metabolism (both are known but I wasn’t aware). I gained fifteen in two month’s time. Now I have asthma (cardiac workup came back clean) and need to get lung function test and CT of lungs. Have tests scheduled, but just took a downturn again (the ebb and flow of this disease is real) and probably won’t make it to testing for now. I did have puritus and a pretty severe MCA (?) rash on my neck which necessitated a different diet and intense excema around my eyes (anything fermented would send me over the top with both). And when I was so sick, I didn’t get my regular level of exercise that I enjoy daily. Thankfully, these symptoms have disappeared.
I’ve been too sick to be depressed about the weight gain yet, but it is just one more box on the list of long Covid symptoms.
