The anxiety could be worse than any issues you may find. It is understandable. However, we can and should still address our anxiety head on. In my case, I think it boils down to feeling a loss of control. In reality, it was imaginary control in the first place. Realizing that helps. The fact is, having this test will give you the data you need to make any course corrections that are needed. It is not a sentence. It is a guide. When I found out how high my CAC is (1,208 at age 57 and otherwise healthy) it was a blow at first. Then I worked on letting go of the anxiety as it hurts more than harms, and and acknowledged that the health choices (mental and emotional and physical) and decisions I make now and going forward are going to determine the quality of the rest of my life. How we got to here does not matter. What matters is what we do now and what we do next. When I learned I have no blockages, just a lot of calcified plaque because the statins-are-doing-their-job, it was a relief and a wake up call. We work with what we get. I've added daily lap swims and cut out red meat and most dairy and I feel great. We learn what we can, adjust to it, and find our peace.

Truth. My score was 65 and the doctor put me on a statin. I am not excited about this but certainly want to make changes now rather than waiting and letting things get worse. We are preparing for an upcoming move in just over a week so things have been crazy busy......just trying to stay sane!
