Well I wish he would have explained that but thank you. Just curious how you're so informative?

It just freaks me out because my mom had a stent put in her LAD artery when she was 70

I have a score of 205 and am on statins.

The score doesn't necessarily mean a blockage. Plaque builds up on the walls of the arteries. It's like a drain pipe that has buildup so that there's a narrower space for the water to flow. A stent widens the space (I don't have one, by the way.) If the artery gets completely blocked, then bypass surgery is a possibility.

Also, important to note that you don't need perfectly clear arteries to live. I have a 40% narrowing in an artery, I go jogging 3x week and I go to the gym. I feel fine. The statin, along with a better diet, helps keep things from getting worse. And if you get your LDL low enough, the plaque can regress somewhat. Nothing can remove it, though.

I have a cardiac calcium score OF 309. I started crestor and zocor. My cholesterol went to 125 and My LDL 36. I walk 3-5 miles a day. About 5 pounds over weight. That is best I can do. Maybe I Will see some regression in My blockage.
My father had bypass.
