Posting results of my latest CTX results from March. For context:

I had 2 Prolia injections in 2022 and had really good results so doctor stopped Prolia. He expected me to quit cold Turkey but based on info here on Connect, I convinced him to put me on Fosomax to guard against any rebound effect.
Started Fosomax to reduce rebound in May 2023 when my 3rd Prolia would have been due. Had to talk doctor into prescribing blood marker tests. No baselines.

CTX scores:
May 2024: 313
Dec 2024: 367*
March 2025: 159

The starred result was taken without fasting and drawing blood 1st thing in morning. I was worried about another medical issue and the doctor wanted a blood draw immediately at that appointment and he included the CTX. I forgot to object in order to comply with blood draw protocol for CTX.

I started 1/2 FOsomax dose November, 2024 near the 2 year mark from the last Prolia injection. Stopped Fosomax March 2025.

Do not know what to think about how low my last CTX test was after following proper blood draw protocol so will have to beg my doctor for another CTX in June just to make sure that result was not an outlier.

Also scheduled in June will be the 1st DEXA since stopping Prolia. Will be interesting to see what if any connection between CTX result. Fosomax usage, and DEXA score might exist.

CTX is not the greatest of tests. Many factors can affect the result, including the time of day.

Hi did you go on prolia due to dexa showing osteoporosis? I've had 4 shots of prolia, due next week for 5th. Not taking. No mention about CTX et ., which I never heard of prior to joining this forum. I plan to start Algaecal plus. I've had no fractures. Just was advised to try prolia due to dexa score,

Thank you very much for posting your March BTM results, rjd. A bit surprised at the drop in CTX especially since you have moved to half dosage but it is certainly not that low as to cause any worry. Would be very interested to see your June CTX and DEXA results

My gyno is the one overseeing my osteoporosis . I notified her that I'm coming off Prolia which she disagreed. I asked her to schedule a CTx and she had no idea what that was nor could do so and referred me to a osteo doctor offer that I'll probably have to wait months. It's so aggrevating I have no expertise docs in my area. There needs to be so much for research and seems like very little of that is being accomplished.

rjd, thanks for posting. The June dxa will be so interesting. I've been wondering how long Prolia-bone lasts if someone properly lowers the osteoclasts.
