I have been having neck pain from arthritis, facet joints 4 & 5 I believe. I have tried cortisone shots which have not helped. The next step would be radio frequency nerve ablation. I had the test for that, the medial branch block, and right after, had no pain. However pain increased as the day went on. Has anyone had the rya and would you recommend it? I know it is painful to do it and I will be very sore afterwards for a few weeks. If it works.

I have had neck pain almost all my life from an accident when I was in my teens. I have been having yearly rfa's for the last 4 years and they have been very helpful. I get cervical headaches from my neck and the rfa's help a lot to reduce the frequency. Mine are done under sedation so not painful when done. There is some soreness after but mine has not been bad. Discuss the possibilities with the doctor who will perform the rfa's. Remember everyone is different but I hope you find some relief no matter what you decide.
