Radiofrequency (RF) for neuropathy

Posted by fenn47 @fenn47, 1 day ago

I recently had an MRI scan and was told I had osteoporosis. My neck joints being particularly bad and it was suggested that radiofrequency would help with neuropathy pain.
It apparently “targets the nerves that relay pain from the spinal facet joints and provides effective pain relief.”
Has anyone out there tried this and if so has it helped at all.

Osteoporosis is typically diagnosed using a Dexa Scan not an MRI. Could you have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis? I’ve not heard of RF to treat either OP or OA.

I have spondolethis at l4-l5 and severe stenosis in that area. I had radio frequency in December it has basically taken care of the pain, but they told me it wouldn't help with the tingling and numbness in my feet which bothers me more than the pain.

Estimated time it lasts is 6 months to a year, but a friend of mine has had it done for her neck and the first time it lasted 3 yrs. The more she has had it done it didn't last as long as previous procedure.
