Have you discussed the side effects with your doctor?
(85-year old male responds:)
I have used Losartan for the past 20 years with no side effects, although numbness from PN may mask some.
What dosage were you on
Been on 25 mg of Losartan since 1998. Keeps BP on good level, no side effects. I doubt the peripheral neuropathy would have been caused by Losartan, too many years in between first dosage and when the onset of PN started.
I take 100mg of Losartan daily before breakfast and it has been very effective in lowering my blood pressure. Losartan can cause side effects, including dizziness, stuffy nose, and tiredness. Impurities that potentially cause cancer found in the drug required several manufacturers to recall specific lots of Losartan (some companies discontinued its distribution). The FDA is now monitoring the production of Losartan more closely!
