Side Effects of Shingles Vaccine
I got the flu shot and the new shingles vaccination 3 days ago. Today I started feeling sick to my stomach. I've never had a reaction to the flu shot and was wondering if anyone else felt sick after getting the shingles vaccine?

I felt TERRIBLE for a few days afterwards.
I had the Shingrex 2nd dose administered Monday,
march 4/25 evening around 6pm and woke up Tuesday morning with horrible chest congestion, nasal issues and I was wheezing like crazy. Today is Friday and I was just able to get up out of my bed eating , shower and to the Walk in clinic tomorrow. This was the WORST reaction that I have ever had to anything in my whole 49 years of existence. I even asked the pharmacist and if course her answer was the typical "Just some red swelling and possibly painful injection site" but that should definitely be it. WELL CAN I JUST SAY THAT SHE WAS 100% INCORRECT and I do have the mind of stopping by the pharmacy and let them know how incredibly ill that vaccine made me. I have not been around anyone besides my 2 elder parents and fur babies while all this is going on we're under a severe weather alert still picking up the pieces from the last one a week ago. If you can avoid getting this vaccine please don't allow your pharmacist to talk you into it. I'm April M. from the Midwest recently turned 49
sArkansas and Missouri
I usually take a few sips of liquid benedrol before any vaccine
A nurse I knew yrs ago shared this
Had only bad reaction to pneumonia vaccine but since all the Covid ones my labs became not normal
I’m sorry you’re ill. I had all 3 shingles vaccines—the 1st one 17 years ago and more recently 2 doses of the newer one. H and zI had no reaction like you’re describing and never have.
It really sounds like you’re having a bad exacerbation, which still sounds better than a bad case of shingles. Whatever may have caused it, please reach out to your MD for treatment so you can get better.
Considering how badly people do when they have shingles, I’d urge folks to get their 2 doses of shingles vaccine.
I know someone who got the shingles vaccine and got so sick they were "out of commission" for days. I think they said it affected their gastrointestinal system. This is a person who is never complains and is rarely "under the weather". That's not to say you shouldn't get the vaccine. Maybe talk to your doctor about certain medications you can take if the side effects of the vaccine become too much.
Totally agree with you. I got fever after 2nd shot, but recovered few days after. My friend had shingles and she was a mess for a while.
