Right that’s the way it was with me too. But I’m the type of person that wants to know everything about something. So I started learning and I approached my doctor with things I thought should happen (various tests and a consult with the cardio specialist.) there was no objections to having any of these things done and a comprehensive battery was ordered by the cardio specialist. It just takes months to get everything accomplished. And then what is your heart and arteries doing in the meantime? I am a “good looking package.” my blood pressure is low, I am not overweight, I look physically trim, and I walked twice a day. In context to others, my age one would think I’m in better shape. But if one knows that I inherited familial coronary artery disease everything gets turned on its head. Because while it’s all looking pretty good, NOW at this stage, it’s going to start going downhill pretty quickly as the plaque begins accumulating at a faster pace. I don’t wanna show up at the doctor one day with them saying that my arteries are clogged and I need bypass surgery When I could’ve done things years in advance to prevent the plat from accumulating. It’s not easy to know what to do and I don’t believe the doctors necessarily know what to do either so most of them tell you to eat right they put you on statins they watch the numbers. But the numbers don’t tell the whole story that’s why I’ve become proactive two months without my cardio walking my LP little LA numbers went up 20 points! I am pretty freaked out about it so now I have a cardiologist but it’s a six month wait and it’ll take me to July to see him. Meanwhile, I’ve increased my cardio exercise to an hour every day and I’m lowering.(I hope.) my triglycerides by eating little refined carbohydrates and taking the fish oil tablets. We’ll see what happens when I test next in June!
